Q&A
An Interview with Zoe
Why did you choose to self-publish?
Why the title?
I have felt intuitively that the only way through grief, is to stay in the love lane as best one can. I have learned to tend and befriend grief, to ask her what she needs and to be compassionate those needs. To be angry, disassociate, or push it away, is to turn it all ugly and create more pain. I have felt so much love and support from my family, from friends, and from Elliot who I feel guides me from above. So although grief is so very painful, the title “To grief with Love” has always felt the right one.
What do you hope the reader feels after reading your book?
I hope they feel partnered. I hope they feel that I have accurately portrayed the snakes and ladders of grief, the deep troughs and the lighter moments. I hope they feel an invitation to go gently in navigating their own way through grief. I hope they feel hope. I hope they feel the light in the tunnel.
Since this is a new venture, with no backing how can the reader help others discover your book?
Please buy my book? Share with another if you feel it has been helpful? Gift to another in need? Share with their therapist or grief circle or charity? I invite contact regarding wholesale orders, perhaps from charities who might want to retail books through their organisation, to fund events or workshops.
Do you plan to publish any more work?
Yes. I have often been asked for cards and prints. I hope sometime in the future to publish a card range, and also small framed prints or prints on canvas blocks. But I’m getting ahead of myself – book first.
